Bachamnn Europe have revealed EP samples for the N Gauge D600 'Warship' diesel hydraulic locomotive to be released in the EFE Rail range.
Developed using research from the EFE Rail OO Gauge model released in 2019, the N Gauge model will feature a coreless motor driving the outer axles on each bogie just like the prototype's A-1-A configuration. A Next18 decoder socket will be fitted, and there will be space for a sugarcube speaker in the fuel tank, although it will not come with the speaker pre-fitted.
The tooling will feature options for both original disc headcode fitted and split box route indicators with the appropriate lighting configurations and switchable tail lights, in addition to functioning cab lighting.
The bogies feature separately fitted details, and EFE have included the distinctve spoked wheels of the prototype. NEM coupling pockets and user fitted buffer beam detailing will also be included.
Full details of the liveries to be released and pricing will be announced by Bachmann in the Winter British Railway Announcements on Wednesday 6th November.
