Rapido Trains UK is to produce a series of all-new ‘N’ gauge Class 44, 45 and 46 1Co-Co1 diesel locomotives.
Collectively known as ‘Peaks’ due to the original Class 44s being named after English and Welsh mountains, these distinctive Sulzer engined locomotives were built between the late 1950s and early 1960s, resulting in ten Class 44s, 127 Class 45s and 56 Class 46s.
Rapido’s all-new ‘N’ gauge models will reflect the detail differences between class members and also feature a high quality motor, Next18 Digital Command Control (DCC) decoder socket, directional lighting, etched radiator grilles, separately fitted handrails and windscreen wipers, NEM coupler sockets and headcode discs for customer fitment.
Currently at the design stage, the Class 44 will be first to appear with nine models planned including:

948002 D7 Ingleborough in plain BR green
